The UW Twin Registry is now the Washington State Twin Registry!

As of March 22, 2016, the University of Washington Twin Registry is now the Washington State Twin Registry. The administrative home has also transferred from the University of Washington (UW) to Washington State University (WSU). It is important to point out that the Registry is now a partnership between the UW and WSU, with the goal of becoming a statewide research resource. The Registry will continue to partner with researchers throughout the US and around the world to understand how genes, behavior, and environment affect health and wellbeing. We are excited to return to our normal operations, including recruitment of new twins into the Registry, follow-up survey collection, outreach through newsletters, and planning the next TwinFest!

The Washington State Twin Registry has been approved for human subject participation by the WSU Institutional Review Board, in collaboration with the UW Institutional Review Board. While the data and biological samples will be housed in a new institution, all procedures regarding data privacy and confidentiality will remain the same. All data is stored on a secure internal server, and only Twin Registry staff will have access to your data. Only the Twin Registry team, and no one else, will be able to contact you unless you give your permission.

If you are no longer interested in being a member of the Washington State Twin Registry, please let us know by calling 1.833.432.8720, or send an email to ws.twinregistry@wsu.edu. If you have any questions about this change, what it means for your information, or anything else regarding the Registry, please do not hesitate to call, send an email, or visit our website at www.wstwinregistry.org.

As always, thank you for your continued participation and support of the Twin Registry!
