Ally Avery

Ally Avery has been with the Washington State Twin Registry (formerly the University of Washington Twin Registry) since 2009, and has been the operations manager since 2013. She received her BA in Sociology from Western Washington University, and her MS in Data Science from Northwestern University. She is responsible for administration of the Registry, which includes managing over 20 years worth of data; overseeing human subjects applications; working with students, postdocs, and investigators on developing new data collection projects or manuscripts; maintaining the WSTR website and Facebook page; pre- and post-award for twin registry grants; and assisting with grant development. She also does pre-award grant management for the Department of Nutrition and Exercise Physiology, and pre- and post-award grant management for the WSU Everett campus.

If you have been contacted to participate in the Registry, participate in a study, or if you have sent an email to the WSTR, she is the person behind the screen. When she’s not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and making pottery.
