SERIES ABOUT TWINS WRITTEN IN THE EARLY TO MID-20TH CENTURY

The Twin Books are a series of 26 books written by Lucy Fitch Perkins (1865-1937). She was an author, educator and illustrator. The twins in all the books except one are boy/girl twins (The Spanish Twins are 2 boys). Each book is set in a different country or in a different time period in American history. The age of the twins in the stories ranges from 2 to 12 years. Some of these books are available in print. Others have been re-released in electronic format.

The Page Twins Series, by Dorothy Whitehill, is 13 books about twin sisters who were separated and didn’t know about each other until they were brought together. The twins are age 13 at the beginning of the series, and they grow older as the series progresses. They get married in book #7 and the series continues for another 6 books. Some of these books are in the public domain, and others may be available in print.
