Although there are other twin registries in the United States, the Washington State Twin Registry is special because it is primarily community-based. This type of registry is unusually valuable for research studies because it contains an unbiased sample of community members. Our primary method of recruitment involves sending invitations to twins who apply for their driver’s license or identification (ID) card in the State of Washington. However, we welcome twins around the world to join our Registry.

The Washington State Twin Registry is working hard to develop new research partnerships all over the globe. We utilize our rapidly growing database to conduct numerous studies of health and well-being. Thanks to our members and dedicated staff, the Washington State Twin Registry is well on its way to becoming one of the best twin registries in the United States.
